Quick Start Guide
Set up your organisation, invite your team and log your first records in under 30 minutes.
1. Sign in and finish setup
After you sign up, PilotVantage walks you through a short setup wizard to create your organisation. You'll confirm your organisation name, choose from 14 frameworks — ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA and more (ISO 27001 is pre-selected, and you can enable others at any time) and set your departments. You can change any of this later in Organisation Settings.
2. Invite your team
Go to Users and invite the people who'll use PilotVantage. Each person gets a role (which controls what they can see and do) and a department. They receive an email invitation to set their password.
Open Users
From the sidebar, go to Users and choose Invite.
Set role & department
Pick a role such as Risk Champion or Auditor, and the department they belong to.
Send the invite
They get an email to join. You can resend or revoke invitations any time.
For a full breakdown of roles and permissions, see Users & Roles.
3. Log your first records
You don't need to fill in everything at once. Start with the areas that matter most for your certification and build from there:
- Add a few risks — capture your top risks with a likelihood and impact score.
- Create or import policies — start your policy library from the built-in templates.
- List your key assets — the systems and information you need to protect.
- Review your controls — your chosen frameworks' control sets are pre-loaded, ready to mark as implemented.
4. Track progress from the dashboard
Your dashboard gives you an at-a-glance view of open risks, incidents, overdue actions and control coverage. As your team logs records, the dashboard and Reports fill in automatically — ready for management reviews and your certification audit.
